Very interesting Bronze Japanese Letter Slot in good condition
Age not positive but it appears to be late 19th to early 20th century
Very Heavy ~ High Quality weighs 1 pound 3.2 ounces
Spring Replaced w/new spring, has 2 original mounting screws

We were told the style of characters originate from Chinese and that it can be read by Chinese, Japanese or Korean
That the style (or placement of characters) is definetely Japanese
That the style is KANJI (one of the Japanese scripts. Chinese characters used in Japanese writing.)
Reading from Right to Left: the 1st 2 characters stand for mail or writtings, the next 2 are to place here and the far left character stands for recepticle
